Parish Life

Coffee Hour – Westover welcomes all visitors to a cup of fellowship after services.

  • Coffee Hour signup sheet is on the bulletin board in the parish hallway. (See Sharon Christian if you have any questions.)

  • Children and Youth Leadership – We give special attention to our children and cherish their presence. Worship includes and features our children. Young people also serve as acolytes.

  • The Schedule for Acolytes, LEM, Lectors, Altar Guild, and Coffee Hour Hosts are consolidated under  “Schedules”/Parish Life.

To avoid scheduling conflicts check the website “Calendar” before making any arrangements for activities at church or in the parish hall . The Website Calendar events were approved by the rector and/or vestry.

  • Prayer List –  If you would like yourself or someone to be added or deleted to our prayer list please contact Peggy Christian at pccandjcc@hotmail.com or the administrative office at westoverchurch9@verizon.net. If you or someone are in need of a pastoral visit please let us know.

The Church exists to shepherd us through the pastoral moments of our lives.

  • Weddings – Congratulations on your engagment! Westover Church is a beautiful place to have a wedding. Usually we celebrate the marriages of parishioners, but we make many exceptions. We are a sacred, historic setting; beautiful and natural in our colonial simplicity. Our intimate setting allows the focus to be on God’s love as expressed in your new union. As you might imagine there are both restrictions and guidelines involved in celebrating your marriage here. A few things we can answer right away: services are from the 1979 Book of Common Prayer, the Rector is the celebrant for all services, and we comfortably seat 150 people. The best first step is to attend worship on a Sunday morning and request an appointment with the priest. Please contact the office for more information.

  • Baptisms – We exist to welcome people into the fellowship of Christ. Any person desiring to receive the holy sacrament of Baptism please contact the Rector. Baptisms are normally performed at the main Sunday service but special arrangement can be made.

  • Funerals – We are very sorry for your loss. If you are in need of pastoral care or services regarding the dying or death of a loved one please call the office number to speak with the Rector. Members of Westover may request to be laid to rest on the church grounds. For non-members special arrangements can be made at times for cremains at Westover’s peaceful consecrated memorial garden.
