Meet the Rector
The Rev. Becky McDaniel began her ministry at Westover Episcopal Church on August 1, 2022.
She came to Westover from St. Catherine’s School where she served as Chaplain from 2019 to 2022. Prior to St. Catherine’s she served as Associate Rector for Family Ministries at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church across the street from the school. Becky has also served as Chaplain to Stuart Hall School in Staunton and Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School in Atlanta. She began her ministry as a Curate at Trinity Episcopal Church in Staunton. Before her call to the priesthood, Becky taught middle and high school English in both public and private schools. She is also a certified yoga teacher and has owned two yoga studios (one in Williamsburg and one in Blacksburg). Becky embraces a quiet and contemplative approach to prayer and seeks to be a comforting pastoral presence to all. She graduated from the University of Virginia, earned a Master of Education from Vanderbilt University, and attended seminary at Sewanee. She is married to Matt Lambert and has two daughters (Laura and Lilly) and two step-children (Aiden and Ivy).
Becky currently serves as the Dean of the Upper Tidewater Region in the Diocese of Virginia and as Chaplain to Anna Julia Cooper School, an independent, faith-based school serving students from limited financial resources in Richmond’s East End.
